A32 magazine

Just surfing and was about to order a couple of 220 film backs. I was elated when I just found out Hasselblad made a A32 back. I also shoot actor headshots and this would give me 32 images on a roll of 220. FANTASTIC. However, the one I am going to buy has a "4x5" mask. What does that mean? I thought the images are 645 size. I also assume the images are horizontal, which means I have to use a tripod and turn the camera sideways for headshots?

Good for you to find one of the rare A32 magazines.
Your assumption is correct, for portraits you need to turn the camera 90°.

The mask is probably the 6x4.5 one which relates to 56x41 mm the correct size of 645.
