Acute Matte D screen in Hasselblad 500C

I´d like to have an Acute Matte D screen installed in my 500C from 1966. From what I´ve read it seems this can be done, by a skilled technician, since the Acute-screen has the same dimensions as the original screen, and the metal frame in which it is set can be removed.

Could anyone confirm whether or not this is true, and, if so, whether or not all the Acute Matte D screens would be compatible with the 500C?

Thank you for your help!

Best,
Tarjei

It is indeed possible, but as I was told by a HB technician the metal frame needs to come off the AM screen. Performing that surgery is not for the faint of heart. Cracking the screen is easy enough, and an expensive gotcha... So, quite some techs are not looking forward to this operation (or won't even consider it)

Several qualified technicians have performed this conversion with succes.
Please note experienced Hasselblad technicians have more than average qualifications for handling vulnerable camera parts.
Find a technician who knows this job and take it from there.

All Acute Matte screens are suitable to convert your 500C body, i.e. both the early and the later "D" type screens can be used.
