Autographed Ernst Wildi Fourth Edition

I just purchased sight unseen a copy of Ernst Wildi's Hasselblad Fourth Edition. The inside front cover is inscribed "To Joseph", followed by an indecipherable autograph, and dated May 13, 1996. This edition was printed in 1996, and I am wondering if this could possibly bear the autograph of Mr. Wildi himself? The date format of May 13, 1996 is the American version as opposed to in Europe and elsewhere where it would have been 13 May, 1996. Does anyone have idea how I might be able to verify if he actually signed this book?

I'm not planning on auctioning the book off or anything like that just to make a buck. I just think it would be kind of cool if the great man had actually autographed this edition.

Hi,
check out auction #140342222073 on fleabay and compare that autograph with the one you have...
Seems like Mr Wildi didn´t go from A to Z but focused on names starting with "J" only...

He signed my 4th edition at a Hasselblad seminar here in Kalamazoo 11 years ago. Does it look like mine?

What is with these fourth editions?
I have first editions both in English and in German.

Neither are signed by the author.

Before you give the 5th back find the mistakes in that edition.
Ernst Wildi did not write these books with perfection in mind.
Later editions were for a large part copy jobs from Hasselblad sales information.

The first edition contains a number of unnecessary mistakes.

This is a better idea, please provide the errata with the corrections for the fifth edition.

The best idea: provide the errata for all the editions.

First editions convinced me I could do without later ones.

Occasionaly I had the chance to see later editions.
That confirmed my idea to leave it at two first editions was right.

One of the ommissions I remember in the first edition was the statement the 40 mm C lens
did not allow for the use of both filters and a shade.

Simply think about the way a German designer at Carl Zeiss operates.
He would never design a lens filter combination that does not allow the use of both filter and
shade at the same time.

This is just one of the obvious errors I found and remember immediately.

The signature on my 7th edition would indicate yours is accurate.

The signature on my autographed fourth edition is strikingly similar. Looks good to me. I bought the book unseen from a kind gentleman in Florida. I am happy now.
