Canon's new large CMOS

Careful here!
If Canon were to go into MF it would wipe out all existing MF manufacturers in a matter of days.

Any idea what the size of Canon is compared to Hasselblad and Phase One?

There is only one positive thing here.
MF is a strong niche market and of no interest for players like Canon.

Maybe Canon will cut a piece of this sensor and supply Hasselblad with a part of this wafer.

If you are prepared to send a few $ 100000 on a camera ... then be my guest ... 100x100 mm sensors exist in space craft ... but no commercial use I am afraid ... please prove me wrong!

Perhaps not so far !
Hope Hasselblad will not kill V-type before it arrive !
Anyway 120mpix means low pixel number for 6x6...will see.

I think Hasselblad already killed the V-series. We're lucky to even have the CFV-39. I wish some company would just get a large sensor and make the full-frame 6x6 back we were hoping for...at a reasonable, non-Hasselblad price. I think that's totally wishful thinking though.

What about RED cameras?

6x17 sensor with 261 Mp and up to 60 fps?

Red is manufacturer of UHD digital cameras for cinematography.
