I'm hoping someone can answer a question for me. Was there just a power cord made for the EL/M, not a charger? The reason I'm asking, is the cord that I have doesn't have Hasselblad anywhere on it. It fits into the side socket fine and powers the EL/M from the wall socket but will not charge the battery. I have 2 batteries. One has a charge and the other one is dead. I don't want to chance draining the good one just to find out that I don't have the correct charger. Thanks.

I never really read the back of this! It seems that this is aftermarket. It powers the camera fine just like I said.

Isn't 6 volts of this unit the same as the battery? This is the AC cord I got with my camera. The camera was in MINT unused condition from someone who was not a photographer. I didn't know that this was not a charger but some kind of AC cord. It works so I'm going to use it and find a correct charger. Which of the 3 do you recommend?

You got me to thinking!!! I just plugged the cord into the EL/M and it's very sluggish. I have a working battery so I never really used the cord much as I shoot mostly outside. When I used it last over the spring when I first got the camera, it seemed to fire fine. I don't know what happened. The voltage seems to be not high enough to fire the camera correctly. The motor and the doors on the back move slowly. I will get rid of this cord before it causes something to happen to my camera.

Are you sure what you have isn't a charger? I don't know what else it would be. What I would do is junk the charger and the battery and get a 9 volt battery adapter to run your camera. They can be had for about $30 and use inexpensive 9 volt batteries. It will run your camera fine!

50mA for sure is not enough to feed the motor of an EL-series camera...
The original NiCd batteries were built from 500mAh Varta cells. Using the
standard charging rule of thumb for NiCd (capacity in mAh divided by 10 =
charging current in mA) that fits nicely with a 50mA charger.
