Focus setting on SWC

I use zone focussing a lot on my other non-hass kit and expect to use it with my recently acquired SWC.

I know this sounds like a really dumb question but the red depth of field indicators on the SWC lens are really wide. So wide that I really do not know whether to put the infinity mark on the focus ring at the left or right edge or roughly in the middle.

I can't find a manual online which covers my version of the SWC/M so I was hoping someone else here who has the version with the ribbed metal focus ring could inform me.

It sounds like you have an SWC/M with a C series lens. What I do after setting the desired aperture is place the infinity mark on the right red marker. That is looking down on the camera, lens pointed away from you. This way you get the maximum depth of field for the given aperture.

They can be a pretty much point and shoot camera then!

Terry, I understand how to zone or hyperfocal focus. The point I am making is that the depth of field markers, the two red 'stripes' are so wide I don't understand where to put the infinity mark - on the left edge, in the middle or the right edge. Does it make much difference?

A careful look at the pointers shows that the area between these pointers is the range for DOF.
The RH side of the left pointer and the LH side of the right pointer should be taken as marks for this purpose.
