Metz 76_MZ-5 on H3D11-50

I believe there is a close relationship between Metz and Hasselblad, so I hope that this is the place to post this request for assistance.

I have an H3D11-50, two Metz 76_M-5s and two Metz 70_MZ-5s.

I have previously successfully used the 4 flashes together in Command/slave mode, but on some occasions I have not been able to get it working.

I have been through the manual step by step umpteen times but I cannot get it to work.

Attaching the SCA adaptor is difficult, but it seems that to attach or detach it you have to wind the flash hot shoe locking ring on the SCA tight against the SCA body... you can then get the shoe all the way in.

There seemed to be no communication between the camera and the controller unit, but now the IR focus light on the controller lights up (it seems that you have to set the AF option to single rather that continuous, as mentioned elsewhere in the manual).

I seem to recall that when it worked before the aperture set on the camera was also displayed on the controller?

The flash test button on the controller does not fire the flash, and the test button on the flash does not produce a delated acknowledgement flash from the other flashes.

I have tried turning everything off taking the system apart...

At one point the camera display said "preparing digital back" until I removed the battery.

The controller unit says TTL and flashing co, so it seems to be in the right mode.

...thanking you in anticipation
