Mirex TS adapter for HB lenses onto 35mm bodies

No I have no experience but this really looks interesting. I may try it on my D3. thanks for the hint.

I ordered one today to fit my Canon 1DsMk3. It will have arrived by the end of the week.

Not particularly cheap at 464.64 euros, but compared to a Canon tilt/shift lens very reasoable.

I'd take a close look at your Nikon D700 (I have one too.. ;-)

The 'overhang' of the prism / builtin-flash over the lensmount might very well limit your options with T/S a lot. If it fits at all that is. I am pretty sure I read in the D700 manual that at least some of the PC-Nikkors also have trouble in this area. Wih HB lenses being on the 'fat' side compared with plain 35mm PC lenses I wonder if this will bring you joy?

D700 overhang...

I was worried about this as well - it seems to limit the use of the Nikkor PC-E series, so it may really be a problem with the HB lenses.
As I mainly want to use it for table top macro, I may be able to manage.

Hi Ed, please keep us posted as to how it works.
It seems a cheaper option than the Canon or Nikkor range of lenses....

I already have a Canon 24L TSE Mk2 which I love, but having 50mm, 80mm, 150mm & 250mm T* Hasselblad lenses it was a no brainer really to get the Mirex.

With the 1.4x extender it gives me 24, 35, 50, 80, 150 & 250 lenses all with perspective and focus control.

I had a chance to use the Mirex adapter with a digital C**** body.
It worked like a charm for me.

Did not notice any problems with overhang which does not mean there are not any.......

I used the camera with Mirex adapter only two days.
It worked like a charm, I did not notice any problems with overhang which does not m,ean there are no problems of course.
Sorry, not being MF I did not save any images, will think of that next time.

I prefer the Mirex adapter over the German built Zorkendorfer ones.
The Mirex is easier to use and seems better engineered.
Besides that The Mirex is less expensive than the German one.

Depends on the body, say a Nikon D3 would work fine, no overhang from a builtin flash in the prism housing.

Both are made in Germany

Hi, both are made in Germany - so it is just a design question.
There is quite a nice YouTube video:

Some PC-Nikkors can't be used on a D700

Curiosity got the best of me and I looked up the relevant section in the Nikon D700 manual. It appears that some PC-Nikkors can't be used. Others definitely can.

Not usable are:

So.. I think it is still advisable to check with Mirex if the D700 will fit
the adapter.

I got a very nice reply from Mirex in which they state that there should not be any problem with the use of HB lenses.... so I'm going to give it a try.

No problem at all, Wilko.
You probably know there is only one subject that will arouse my moderators anger instantly :z04_explodieren:

Short of K* worshippers you mean? Yes indeed.

I've been thinking about this Mirex adapter. It would also be perfectly
fit a Xpan lens. Assuming the lens-bajonet to film/sensor distance is doable.

Well, it's arrived, beautifully made. I will probably not get much chance to try it out before the weekend though.
