Stuck A12

I am having problems with one of my A12 backs. I cannot fire the shutter. The small indicator is white (ready to fire but the one one the other side (where you remove the darkslide is red, and no matter how much I turn the small winding lever, it won't go to (1), but stays blank.

I tried removing the darkslide; winding the small crank; removing and reinserting the spool holder to "reset" it; removing the back, firing the shutter, then attach the back and wind for next frame (in case the back had been removed in unwound state). None of these have helped.

Any clue what could be wrong? Thank you.

From what I read my guess is the back does not reset to "0" after removing the insert.
It seems the counter is stuck, it should jump to "0" after the insert was removed.

Strange that you have a white window though.
I have no explanation for that.
The window only shows white after the back was wound and indicates it is ready for the next exposure.

Sounds like something in the gear train is broken, looks like this one needs surgery to find out what.
