SWC/M sound different from 500cm?

Hi there, I need the advice from other, more experienced users than I. I recently bought an SWC/M very early model, in fact it is a 1978 body that appears to have been converted to "M" specs. When I first wound it I was quite surprised at the sound that it made near the very end of the wind, it made a rather loud clacking noise. It doesn't make the same noise without the back attached and it makes the same noise with any of 4 different backs attached. Is the sound of an SWC winding much different from the 500cm winding sound or should it be the same? I was told this SWC had a recent CLA and I'm hoping this louder sound is normal.
