Thank you David.
We try our best to make sure that our hobby is also in the future secured and supported with user friendly community forums. Whether it is in photography or other areas.
This is why we always help, if someone else' forum is in danger. We always offer to take it over or merge it with one of our forums, if that make sense ins that specific case.
It is sad to see, if the knowledge accumulated over i.e. 20 years gets lost, just because the owner of a forum is burned out or decided to invest his spare time more towards other interests. It is normal if someone wants to change directions. That happens all the time. But the content and the users shall stay together also in the future.
The wealth of knowledge about Hasselblad cameras and lenses in our medium format forum is unsurpassed. It is almost impossible to replicate that in a new forum. This is why I never delete a forum content of a community forum.
Therefore if you get to know of a forum which is in danger to be deleted or the old owner looks for a new owner, send me a PM and I will try to make sure that I rescue it, if the old owner is fine with it.
Even if (worst case) the old owner still wants to delete his forum, I can create within 2 days a new and empty "rescue" forum, so that that old community can come over and stays together in a new home just for them with the DNA of the old forum members.
Everything is possible. If there is a will, there is a way
