Use of a CFV to scan xpan films

I was encouraged to continue to take pictures of xpan films with my CFV-39.
I used a macro ring, the 60mm/3.5 and a tripod and put film on a view table. It works but improvements is waiting !

Now I'm thinking to put a modified hood (or a folding lens shade) on the lens as I could put a systeme to handle the film on it.

Anyone allready used this configuraton ?

Hi, I just stumbled upon your post on my first visit here.

I am doing something similar, but using a 5DMkII (not quite as sexy as your CFV39).

I am using a L.P.L./Saunders universal glass-type hinged masking negative carrier from a MF enlarger with the top piece of glass removed to hold the film. I photograph the film before cutting it into strips, as once you cut it, the frames on the end don't want to stay flat in the carrier. It works perfectly for all film formats I use (regular 35mm, Xpan, and 6X6).

I am also using my tripod for this, but it is somewhat of a pain. I am considering looking for a copy stand for this, as I could just set it once for each film format I use and mark the stand and then always be ready to go instead of fiddling around with the tripod and head to get the correct height and level every time.

Welcome to the forum! Not quite as many posts here as on GetDPI, but this is another great place to hang out....especially re your wonderful 'Blads!

Post the photo here of your beautiful 500CM! What a beauty it is. :)
