Use of mirror lock up on 500C

I have recently acquired a 500C, and I'd be grateful if someone could help with a couple of questions on the use of mirror lock up on this and similar models. How much of a difference does it actually make with regard to image sharpness? And in what range of shutter speeds would the difference be most pronounced?

Thanks!

I should probably mention that I ask because the mirror lock up mechanism on the camera is defect, and I'd like to know how important it would be to have it fixed.

Most likely the camera shell was removed by a person who did not have the knowledge to put it back correctly. The mirror release button needs to be engaged with the camera mechanism when the shell is refitted.
It is not essential for the functioning of the body.

Hasselblad cameras require a certain amount of expertise from the person who repairs or services these complicated constructions.

And the person who had his hands on this one did nto care to properly test it after re-assembly either :-(

This problem is not difficult or time consuming to fix by the way.
