What to check on a used XPan II?

Dear all,

I might have the opportunity to buy a used XPan II with the 4/45 lens. Do you have any suggestions or tips on what to check?

I will of course make a visual inspection and check body/lens for scratches and dents, see if shutter and format blind look ok, look for scratches, smears or dust on the lens, test buttons and LCDs and verify how many exposers were done. If time permits I will load a film and fire off some shots. Is there anything else that should be checked?

Thanks for any helping thoughts,
Gerhard

Hard to find any info about this.
I recently got a very hard used ugly XPAN I. No problem.
It's inportant to check the focusing. Use a far away ligne or a star or moon for infinity.
Test all speed and then count on chance and return policy.

Checking the range finder for correct operation is a good point.
It is one of the few weak points of the Xpan body.

Vic.

Thanks for pointing out possible weaknesses of the range finder. I understand that "correct operation" can be tested by focussing on far objects? Or is it necessary to shot and check some frames?
