Which is the best chimney viewfinder.....

I'm into using the Hasselblad chimney finder these days as i find them brighter than prisms and good magnification. Also makes the camera lighter which is also good.

I was wondering which is the best, ie brightest and best enlargement and the clear winner in the chimney viewfinders for Hasselblad, also compare to the standard WLF from hasselblad too please....

I'm using what looks like a standard one with with smooth sides...cant remember its name...

Heh... of course the chimney finder I have FS in the Classifieds section of the forum is the best :)

Kidding aside: the main advantages are that you have no stray light entering the finder reducing contrast while focusing & composing, and the adjustable diopter. The disadvantage compared to the WLF is the obvious bulk of the camera with the finder fitted, which makes it consume more valuable bag space.

My favourite is the HM-2 chimney finder. It has no adjustable diopter but can be easily used with glasses on.

oops, looked up the classified section and saw that this is the one that you already have. For higher magnification you can buy a Hasselblad DPS 4x4 finder. But as the name says, at this high magnification it does only cover a field of 4 x 4 cm which is good for use with a CFV-16 back (I happen to have this finder but am still waiting for such a back ;-).
