Hi
carl zeiss 150mm for hasselblad digital back cfv-39 is "cfi" version.
But im not sure if the "cfi" version is also good for film color and black and white. May be is better cf version.
Hi and welcome to the forum. The glass is the same in the CFi and the CF versions so there is no difference. Either is fine for black and white or color.
All Carl Zeiss lenses for V series cameras are of excellent quality.
Amongst these lenses some designs are exceptional like the 100 mm Planar.
Those exceptional designs are best suited for digital capture.
All other lenses will perform quite well,
The last design, the 40 mm IF lens, was made with digital in mind.
Resolution was increased at the expense of low distortion.
The 40 IF is an exceptional design by any standard.
ON Hassemblad site is written about the digital back CFV-39:
Digital lens correction supports the following lenses: Supported lenses are:CF/CFE 40 FLE, CFE 40 IF, CFi 50 FLE, CFi/CFE 80, CFi/CFE120, CFi 150, CFE/CFE 180, CFi 250, CFE 250 Sa and CFE 350 Sa.
I forgot Hasselblad now offers corrections for V series lenses when used with a DB.
You will notice the absence of the 100 mm Planar.
That lens has not been overlooked.
As it is the lens is so good it does not need to be corrected when used with a DB!

Are you sure Terry?
Mechanically the CF and the CFi versions are quite different.
Set for infinity the CFi lens is much shorter than th CF version which leads me to believe the glass elements are not the same.
You are right Paul. CFi version is 4 elements, CF was 5. MTF and most optical specs are the same though. Never knew this! You learn something every day in this forum!
