500cm shutter speed problem

hello everyone ,

I recently received an hasselblad 500cm with a 80mm plannar from friend, everything is in good shape . until i noticed that the shutter speed is locked on "B" 'bulb' mode ... but I can move the ring on every speed, but it ain't doing anything : when I press the button, the shutter opens and when I release it it closes ...

is this normal that even when I take the lens apart, the body is stuck on bulb mode ?

am I doing something wrong or the problem is serious? (and need a repair from an hasselblad center that will probably cost me a lot ;-)

thanks for your help and sry for my poor english

Thomas, welcome here.

Your current question and a lot of others will be answered in the owners manual of the camera.

You can download a free copy here: www.hasselblad.com

Register as a user with the body number of your camera that is to be found at the bottom of the faceplate near the film back.

Look at the manuals for the 500C and the 500CM.
The 500 C has the older C series lens, the 500CM shows the later CF Planar.
Not the camera body but the correct lens is important to get you started.

If after reading the manual your problem still exists please come back and show us a picture of the lens you are using.
