Hass mount drawing

New Member
Hello,

Is there any possibility to find drawing of hasselblad mount (lens side)? I need to make custom adapter for one of my non-hassy lens..

Get yourself a (cheap) eytension ring.
That saves you a lot of time and energy to make the mount yourself.

I'll have to make the rest of the ring myself anyway for it to have required length/diameter/thread on the other end. So I can only take mount plate from extension tube... I think it's not a good idea to waste it for just one part. Also I found who can make entire adapter for me on lathe for about $50, this is cheaper than single ext tube itself.

Lathe? For the bajonet you'd need something like a (CNC) milling machine as well.

$50 is really extremely cheap given the time it will take to create the adapter.

Hmm I think you're right, I'm just not very familiar with all these machines/tools.

Here we have specialized forum with many people accepting requests to make various [metal] parts. So I just shown one of them what I need (I have the same adapter as I need but with Pentacon mount) and he gave me around $50 quote depending on the actual bayonet drawing.

If you're interested what I need this adapter for, look here

Neat :) You do have a Hasselblad body with a shutter do you? I mean, a 500-series body won't work as it does not have a shutter.

If it bothers you to break an extension ring you can still order the bayonet plate from Hasselblad.
Hasselblad charges only 531 euro + VAT for that part.

Extension rings from the first series being 10/21/55 mm can be found for far less than 50 euro at evilbay.

Why bother to fit older and probably inferior lens designs to Hasselblad bodies when excellent Carl Zeiss
lenses can be found for give away prices these days?

I suspect you are also falling into the trap that Wilko already warned for:
500 series bodies are fitted with an auxilary shutter. That shutter is not suitable for photographic purposes.
It only covers the film plane at the time a lens is removed from the body.

The lenses you have in mind need a different Hasselblad body with a focal plane shutter.
Bodies from the 2000 series and the later 200 series were fitted with these shutters.
A 2000 camera with a good shutter is hard to find.
200 Series bodies start around 1000 euro.

Paul, thank you for all this useful info. But I'm not a hassy newbie, sorry.

I have 2000fcm with shutter in perfect condition and I bougt it specifically to be able to mount third-party lenses (and to have half-stop and fast shutter speeds of course).

And when I found this 180/2.2 lens I had no reason not to buy it for only $150.

Also of course I know about original hass mount adapter but it costs right as my lens itself. So i will try to make my custom adapter, this will be cheaper and faster than finding cheap ext tube+shipping+shipping time to Russia. That's why I'm loking for drawing of hass mount. However now I assume it doesn't exist so I'm making it myself.

I'll report on my success or failure.

Hello Pronvit,

I am glad you did not fall into the trap to try the use of lenses without a shutter with bodies from the 500 series.

It is virtually impossible to import goods into Russia these days unless you are a registered business.

The best I can do for you is to make a xerox copy of the mounting plate as fitted to lenses and extension rings.

Send me a pm with your e-mail address and you will get the scanned copy as soon as possible.

You are a coureageous enthousiast.
Ii is a pleasure to help you get started.

There's usually no problems buying [almost] anything for personal needs from overseas, almost all my cameras/lenses came from ebay, keh. However long and expensive shipping may be unacceptable sometimes.

Thank you for your proposal, but I do have hasselblad lens (I don't use my camera to mount third-party stuff only:) ). So I just measure everything in the mount currently.

Finally my adapter is ready. Took long time because of a mistake made on their side. Now I have these two monsters together:

Later will post drawing of the mount if somebody is interested/will ever need to make something with Hassy mount.
