I have tryed the adapter yesterday evening successfully with my Planar 80, I was able to close and open the lens as requested.
My lens is as the one in the attached picture.
But I haven't find the solution in my Distagon 50, in the past I never had the need to discover if it was possible and now I'm not prepared to solve the problem . The lens is as the one in the second picture.
The stop down button on your 50mm C lens is directly opposite the flash sync connection on the lens. Set you lens to f22 then push the button in. Then adjust to the desired aperture. Once you move the aperture back to f4 you will have to push the button again to once again stop down the lens.
I had always wondered what it was that button! (I bought the lens used so I have no manuals...and probably I'm a little lazy to try to find one on the web )
Many thanks for your answer! Now I know how to do.
