A 40231 lens shade with Bay 50 adapter was included in a package of older
gear I recently purchased. From appearance, it was probably never used.

Is there an adapter available for Bay 60? Also, is there a 50mm CF adapter?

What other lenses can this lens hood be used for?

Also, does anyone have experience with the plastic "For Hasselblad" lens hoods available for $10- $15 on the auction sites?
 
The 40231 professional lens shade was the first of this kind offered for Hasselblad/Zeiss lenses.
There are adapters for bayonet 50 and 60 mm size covering most C lenses and the majority of CF lenses.
The other lens adapter is the one with 67 mm thread for C lenses: 38 mm Biogon SWC, 50 and 60 mm Distagon.

The B 60 CF adapter for the 40231 is rather rare .

Maximum lens diameter for the 40231 shade is 60 mm.

Please do not spend good money on inferior Chinese junk.
These shades are of low quality and unworthy to be fitted to Zeiss lenses.

Thanks for your input. Since I have both C and CF lenses, it might
make more sense to get another, newer lens shade with a Bay 60 adapter.
Seems like having both a Bay 50 and a Bay 60 shade would be more convenient.
 
No problem to use the 40231 for both B50 (C series) and B60 lenses (CF lenses).
A B60 adapter for your Pro Shade is stil cheaper than a second Pro Shade in decent condition.
