I know I have not been on the forum for a bit because like everyone else, life pulls you in many directions at once sometimes.
Anyway, I am finally finding time to get back to my Hasselblad 201F and film interests. So today I got out my gear in an order to get reaquainted with it once again.
As some might know, I have been collecting the lenses and other things to round my kit out. As poly once said in a post, I am like a kid in a candy store that just keeps eating. Well he was partially right. More like a sham wow that just keeps absorbing.
Its amazing how easy it is to forget how things go together or work if you do not keep your hand in on a regular basis.
I did follow Poly's advice and purchased the Pro-Shade 6093T and all of the adapter rings I needed to use it with the 50 2.8 F lens, 80 2.8 C T* lens, 110 F lens, and 150 F4 lens.
So blew the dust off my gear and started to get everything assembled to practice in my front yard today before I go out to shoot film. I wanted to make sure I put everything together right and since it has been awhile, I found out it was a good idea. I did struggle just a bit but now I think I have it. Another thing I was glad of is that I bought a separate rolling camera case to keep all of my Hasselblad gear together in. I think this is very important to do especially if you are like me and forget sometimes where you put things. So by the time I got everything together and did some reading of course the Sun went down. LOL Thank god there is always tomorrow.
I think I will read through the manuals again to make sure I am using the Pro-Shade properly. I also need to make sure how the PME 51 meter works that I was able to aquire some time back.
After fooling the Pro-Shade finally I had a brain fart and the dim light bulb in my head came on. Apparently the people at Hasselblad were very smart. They designed the Pro-Shade to be used with many different lenses instead of having to buy the individual lens shades. Of couse that did not stop them from making those other type of Square Metal and Plastic lens shades which I do own as well.
At this point I would like to ask other than what I mentioned and the fact that the Pro-Shade allows you to use drop in Masks and I imagine filters, is there any reason other than convenience to have the metal or square type of lens shades?
