Problem with HV90X

Hello,

I have a problem with my H2 and HV90X, recently, I have used it in temps like 40º C, and the viewfinder has lost the contrast in the lcd display almost to be unreadable.

I have swap by another HV90X that I have from a H1 backup, It have worked correctly, but... in few hours... it's loosed the contrast in the lcd display too.

I have mounted the HV90X in an H3D (to test if it's relative to cameras), I begin to test it in a room with AC and 25ºC. It's seems like have loosed the lcd contrast vs before the issue, and compared to HVD90x in H3D. But in few minutes of use in hot conditions, it's unreadable. The HVD90x in H3D seems to not suffer with 40ºC.

My Reseller ask me to speed about 900 Euros to repair... But I'm affraid if it can be a design issue and I will suffer it again in short time, because it's strange that I have same problem with 2 viewfinders.

The Hasselblad service repair centre, said to me that the H1 and H2 are fine and working ok, and both have the last firmware.

Have anyone experience this issue? Maybe it can be relative to a aged LCD and fail in hot temps? I have noticed that there are different firmwares with other HV90x, Can be a Firmware issue?

In 2007 I spent three weeks shooting in South Dakota with an H2 in 114F (45C), in direct sun, for many hours at a time without any issues. Viewfinder was never a problem. That was the hotest I've been in.

The symptoms that you describe are interesting, especially with two viewfinders. I hope you find a solution.

Kind regards,
Derek
