V series parts supply

Forum users know they can always bother me if they are having problems finding parts for their camera or lenses.
I keep a modest stock of new and used parts.
There is much more than I need for my own collection of cameras.

The strangest request came from a Swedish guy to supply him with 3 sets of seals for his film backs.
He lives in or near Gothenburg!
Apparently it is not possible to place a small order with Hasselblad or with the company that sells Hasselblads in Sweden.

The seals will be sent next week!

parts supply

Just for information; i have just had my 100mm planar cf serviced- it took 4 weeks just to source a mainspring for the lens from Hasselblad , and that is a CF version ! Once found, it took only three days to complete the service. I dread to think how long it would take to find a spring for a "C' series...

I recent sent my 500C/M to the Hong Kong distributor (and the major shareholder) of Hasselblad for a replacement of the main spring. It took only one week at US$236 for the spring and US$116 for the work. I could have bought a used body for the spring but I would prefer a brand new spring that, I believe, would last for a long time.

main spring 2

I mentioned the spring, because I understood that the CF spring was an updated-read upgraded type, which supposedly would last longer; I preume that it had a stronger type of metal ? I don't know, hence the query.

Both the Compur and the Prontor shutter are of similar design.
The Prontor shutter was manufactured at Deckel industries in Germany.
Deckel was part of the Carl Zeiss group during the time these shutters were made.
Carl Zeiss sold the Deckel company a few years ago.

The CF mainspring is of different material but is othwerwise identical to the spring used in C type lenses.

I suppose the spring was only 23,60 USD?

Unfortunately, it was US$236. It might be more than a mere spring. This is the component located at the front-end bottom of the 500 C/M body. I was told it is for driving the mirror motion.

The part that was probably replaced is the gear train which contains a large spring.
That part holds the shaft that drives the lens.

Hope it's not too much bother.

Any idea where I might be able to get a replacement Eyecup for a Hasselblad Magnifying Hood 42013? Uk preferably

Small things can make the difference.
Glad you solved the problem.

1350 is only euros
Must sound like a bargain in GBP :z04_smilie_geschenk

V Parts

I have been looking for a +3 diopter for the waist level view finder and a reputable source for a light seal replacement.

V Series Parts & Service is it that bad?

Hi folks,
I'm new to this forum and this is my first post.
In the old days I shot Hasselblad for many years. I bought my first Hassie in 1972. Then as sometimes happens in relationships, I drifted away. Well, I've seen the error of my ways and am beginning to look at Hasselblad again. BUT, I read and hear that the
V series cameras and even the (newer to me) CF lenses are getting hard to get parts for. I know of one person that couldn't seem to get a flash sync socket fixed.
Before I go too far down this road, can somebody tell me the real deal on parts and service on CF lenses and I guess the newer V series bodies?
thank you!
Robert

Hi Robert,
I've had no problems so far getting service for my 503 or CF lenses. Not sure where you live, but here in The Netherlands lives a guy who's been servicing HB for many years and I believe he's got plenty of spares to keep going. Also HB themselves continue to service 'old' equipment as I only recently found out by coincidence.
I'd say go for it, you won't regret it!
Regards,
Erik
