The CCD has a better quality.
In a CCD do you have only one A/D Converter for the Chip.
In a CMOS do you have for any Pixel a A/D Converter, this is the explication for the High-Performance with CMOS.
But, the Room for the A/D is loosed for light at the Pixel.
This is quick
Phase One has solved the issue of checking focus in the field on a view camera with their IQ backs ... and did it without using a CMOS sensor.
I suspect Hasselblad will eventually do the same ... or maybe even step past it with a full WiFi system to send live view to a future iPad type device. Technology is moving pretty swiftly.
CMOS IQ isn't up to snuff enough yet ... which I suspect is why all of the Medium Format players use CCDs.
to an iPad it will be certainly good for studio but for outdoor shooting (treking, landscape , ...) it is useless , build in live view is necessary specially with HTS
I agree, live view would be nice. However, if it means using a CMOS sensor as they currently are, I personally wouldn't want it.
Not everyone shoots landscapes with camera movements. Most of my HTS use is in the studio to gain DOF for tethered product shots ... where live feed is available.
I haven't seen how Phase One has helped solve the issue yet, but landscape photographers that use field technical cameras love the new IQ backs.

You repeat this several times, but as someone who uses the HTS in the field and in low light, I hereby inform you that it's you, not the HTS or the lack of Live View.
I hope you are not offended easily, but one need only look at my work with the HTS to understand just a tip of the iceberg of what can be done without Live View. So, respectfully, please mind your personal limitations and do not blame the H system.
